Schedule: Most of our classes are held in person on Wednesdays at the Halifax Grammar School (945 Tower Rd., Halifax, NS, B3H 2Y2). Classes for early beginners, kids, and teens take place in the afternoon (4:30 - 6:00 pm), while evening sessions are designed for adults (6:15 – 8:15pm) . We may also offer online courses for adults depending on yearly demand—please check our website or contact us for the latest updates.
At Sedice, we offer Spanish language courses for children, teens, and adults, carefully structured by age group and language proficiency. Our curriculum follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), an internationally recognized system that guides students from A1 (beginner) to C1 (advanced).
Each level is reached through either two or four progressive courses, depending on the level itself and the pace of instruction. For example, to complete the A1 level, students starting at A1.1 in the Fall must continue with A1.2 in the Winter to fully complete that level.
For B1, students progress through four courses—B1.1, B1.2, B1.3, and B1.4—distributed over two academic years. This structure ensures a gradual and solid progression in language development, while also offering flexibility. For students with prior knowledge or a faster learning pace, these levels may be completed in less time, depending on assessment results and teacher recommendations.
This progression allows each student to consolidate their learning step by step and ensures that, regardless of their entry point, they have a clear pathway to advance through the program successfully.
To ensure that each student is placed in the appropriate level, we highly recommend taking a placement test before registering—especially if you are interested in a course above Beginner 1 (A1.1). If you’re completely new to Spanish or have very limited knowledge, you can register directly in Beginner 1 (A1.1). No placement test is needed—just sign up and get ready to start!
The placement test helps us match you with the class that best suits your Spanish proficiency, ensuring a more effective and enjoyable learning experience
Each course requires a minimum of 8-10 enrolled students to open. If this number is not reached, participants will be notified in advance, and alternative options will be provided.
After registering, you’ll receive a personalized link to order the textbook required for your level from the official distributor. Just select your course materials and complete your purchase online—the books will be shipped directly to your home. We recommend placing your order promptly, as delivery times may vary by location.
